The Empire State Plaza Convention Center is here to assist you in the planning and presentation of your next special occasion. Your coordinator will provide professional, personal attention to every detail and ensure the success of your event.

The flexible Convention Center space can accommodate groups from 10 to 10,000. It is ideally situated to enjoy the unique amenities of the government seat of New York. Visitors can enjoy touring the Plaza and its Memorials, the Capitol Building, Executive Mansion, the Plaza Art Collection and the New York State Museum. Furthermore, just a short walk away, you'll find world-class museums, unique galleries, stunning architecture, gourmet restaurants, and all the welcoming accommodations of the capital city.

  • Center dance floor measures 82' x 64', with a ceiling height of 18'3"; surrounded by three U-shaped carpeted tiers and the Main Stage
  • 2,400 occupancy theatre-style
  • 1,110 (rounds) or 1,750 (recs) occupancy banquet seating
  • 952 occupancy classroom style
  • Space for 135, 8' x 10' exhibit booths
  • New state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems
  • Clear Com intercom system
  • Fiber optic and telephone network with central patch site connected to outside lines
  • Expert technical staff to provide experienced lighting and sound consultation and operation for all events
  • Backstage dressing rooms which include two private, carpeted rooms with individual makeup and shower facilities; and two additional rooms for 10 to 20 persons, each with makeup facilities and four showers
  • Handicap accessibility through ramps with automatic doors and lifts situated to provide entry to each tier

  • 102' wide x 24' deep with an additional 9' apron projecting beyond the proscenium opening
  • Center stage opening is 55' wide with a 17' opening at each side separated from the center stage proscenium opening by 3' wide columns
  • Clear stage height is 14'
  • Stage right measures approximately 44' x 17'; stage left 28' x 8'

Elevator / Center Stage
  • 24' square elevator located in the middle of the dance floor
  • Access to the Convention Hall from the street level area for easy load-in
  • Six levels exist from the loading dock to 4'8" above the dance floor
Meeting Rooms 1 - 5
  • Five adjacent meeting rooms, each 1,600 square feet, accommodate 150 people auditorium style, 90 classroom style, 80 for banquet seating, and fifty 8'x 10' booths
  • Each room is carpeted and has a separate entrance and exit
  • Master control panel located in the rear of each room controls sound, lighting and motorized projection screen
  • Microphone inputs located around the perimeter of each room with mixer control
  • Rooms 2, 3 and 4 may be combined into one room
Meeting Room 6
  • Meeting Room 6 accommodates 400 persons theatre-style, 250 classroom style, 250 for banquet seating, and twenty-nine 8' x 10' booths
  • Elevated stage with motorized front curtain and manual cyclorama curtain, two small dressing rooms with lavatories
Meeting Room 7
  • This premier room within the Convention Center is beautifully appointed with wood paneling and chandeliers. It is perfect for a small reception of 125 guests or a sit-down banquet seating for 70. The room can also accommodate 75 classroom-style.
Pre-Function Exhibit Space
  • The base of the Egg, a large circular lobby just outside the Convention Hall, can accommodate over 1,000 people for a reception and forty 8' x 10' exhibit booths
  • The concourse is the indoor "main street" of the Empire State Plaza, extending from the Capitol to the New York State Museum. It contains shops, restaurants, banks, a post office and other convenient services for thousands of state employees Plaza visitors on a daily basis. Combined with gallery space extending off the concourse, 123, 8' x 10' exhibit booths can be accommodated
Corning Tower - Observation Deck
  • The enclosed Observation Deck of the Corning Tower provides panoramic views of Albany, the Hudson River and surrounding valley, and the Adirondack, Berkshire and Catskill Mountains. This fabulous setting on the 42nd floor of the tallest building in upstate New York accommodates 170 persons for receptions and 60 for seated dining.
